Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be (-/L/D): Car
8.00 a.m: Depart from Hanoi and transfer to Ba Be National Park. This drive of 270 km, which will take approximately seven hours, takes us through the flatlands of the Red River Delta and up into the mountain areas north of Hanoi. On the way, visit the Ethnology Museum in Thai Nguyen. The Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups is in the center of Thái Nguyên City, about 80 km north of Hà Nội on National Highway 3. The Museum was built in 1960. At first it was named Việt Bắc Museum, with its functions and tasks of scientific research and educating the traditions of culture and revolutionary struggle history of ethnic groups in Việt Bắc.
12h00: Lunch is served in a local restaurant.
2.00 p.m: Arrive Ba Be Lake. Check in hotel in Cho Ra. Then cycling around town to visit and understand the life of local people.
5.00 p.m: Back to hotel, relax and enjoy dinner at hotel. Overnight in Cho Ra.
Day 2: Ba Be – Pac Ngoi (kayaking, trekking) (B/L/D): Car - Boat
7.30 a.m: After breakfast, take a boat go along Nang River to visit Puong Cave, not as big or magnificent as Phong Nha Cave in Quang Binh or Nguom Ngao Cave in Cao Bang, Puong Cave – its 30m wide with a depth of 300m. And then keep visit Dau Dang waterfall, Window Islet and swimming.
11.30 a.m: Then trek to Pac Ngoi village and explore the daily life of Tay. Visitors coming to Pac Ngoi are not only entitled to witness with their naked eyes the most wonderful scenery of Northern Vietnam: a plethora of austere yet interesting stilt houses blending themselves with the glimmering mist and the shinning Ba Be Lakes,but also to stay in the rhythm of the Tay culture
12.30 p.m: Have lunch in Pac Ngoi village.
1.30 p.m: Spend whole afternoon for kayaking around the Lake.
5.00 p.m: Back to Po Lu village, dinner and overnight at stilt house in Po Lu village.
Day 3: Ba Be – Cao Bang (cycling) (B/L/D)
8.00 a.m: After breakfast, start cycling along spectacular mountain roads in Ba Be to explore the pristine nature and revolution land. You can enjoy the spectacular view of lush valleys, hamlets and mountains en route, cycle (1,5 hours) to visit Tay, Nung minorities villages to explore the daily life of minority in the area.
11.30 a.m: Back to village to have lunch.
12.00: Transfer to Cao Bang.
5.00 p.m: Arrival in Cao Bang, check in HOTEL AND free time.
Overnight at hotel in Cao Bang.
Day 4: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc (B/L/D): Car
8.00 a.m: After breakfast, depart for Ban Gioc. On the way, visit Phuoc Sen village of Nung people, a small village famous for producing farming tools. The population of the Nùng is estimated to be more than 700,000. They are located primarily in the provinces of Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, and Tuyen Quang.
The Nùng support themselves through agriculture, such as farming on terraced hillsides, tending rice paddies, and growing orchard products. They produce rice, maize, tangerines, persimmons and anise. They are also known for their handicrafts, making items from bamboo and rattan, as well as weaving. They engage in carpentry and iron forging also.
10.00 a.m: Keep transfer to Ban Gioc Waterfall (85km).
11.00 a.m: Arrive in Ban Gioc waterfall, relaxing, taking photos and enjoying the most beautiful waterfall of Vietnam. From here, you can rent bamboo boat to go around river.
12.00: Have lunch at local restaurant.
1.00 p.m: Take the bus keep moving to visit Nguom Ngao cave, one of the most beautiful cave in Vietnam with amazing stalactite and stalagmite.
3.00 p.m: Take the bus back to Cao Bang. Which gives yours eyes a massage with the endless blue sky and colorful terraced paddy field. The road is curved around the mountain and you will just go from one surprised to another. The further you go, the closer you are to the sky and to nature.
6.00 p.m: Arrive Cao Bang, check in hotel.
7.30 p.m: Have dinner and overnight in Cao Bang.
Day 5: Cao Bang – Lang Son – Halong (B/L/D): Car
7.30 a.m: After breakfast, take the car transfer to Lang Son town. Lạng Sơn is a province in far northern Vietnam, bordering Guangxi Province in China. Its capital is also called Lang Son, which is a strategically important town at the border with China and is 137 kilometres (85 mi) northeast of Hanoi connected by rail and road. Lang Son Province is bounded by China in the north, Cao Bang Province borders the northwest, Ha Bac Province on the south, Quang Ninh Province starting on the south and extending to the eastern border and Thái Nguyên province to the west.
11.00 a.m: Arrival in Lang Son, visit Tam Thanh, Nhi Thanh caves, Both are illuminated, which makes for easy exploration, and have Buddhist altars inside. Tam Thanh Cave is vast and seductive. There’s an internal pool and a viewing point or natural ‘window’ offering a sweeping view of the surrounding rice fields. Just a few hundred metres up a stone staircase are the ruins of the Mac Dynasty Citadel. It’s a lovely, deserted spot, with stunning views across the countryside. The Nhi Thanh Cave entrance has a series of carved poems written by the cave’s discoverer, a soldier called Ngo Thi San, in the 18th century. There’s also a carved stone plaque commemorating an early French resident of Lang Son, complete with his silhouette in European clothing. And then Ky Lua Market.
1.00 p.m: Have lunch at local restaurant.
2.00 p.m: Drive to Halong city.
6.00 p.m: Check in hotel upon arrival.
7.00 p.m: Have dinner and overnight in Halong City.
Day 6: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B L): Cruise - Car
8.00 a.m: After breakfast, 10 minutes by bus to the Bai Chay Harbor, take the boat and we are slowly getting off the classic cruising routes, keep admiring the amazing kasts with different formations on the way. Limestone rock formations will parade around us for about 2 hours before our first stop.
Cruise around Halong Bay, and take photos. On the way, witness the beauty of Dinh Huong Island (incense burner), Cho Da Island (stone dog), and Ga Choi Island (fighting cocks). You will enjoy sunbathing and the magnificent scenery of Halong Bay.
10.30 a.m: You will arrive at TiTop area and enjoy kayaking. Snorkeling, kayaks, paddles, dry bags for cameras are available on boat. Amongst the many ways to explore this legendary stone world, kayaking has been emerging as a new, exciting and adventurous way that can lead tourists to the most primary parts of the bay. Let’s discover Halong Bay from top of the island.
12.00: you will visit the Halong Bay’s largest cave named Sung Sot (Amazing Cave), walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat.
1.00 p.m: Lunch with fresh seafood is served (vegetarian and kids menus available).
2.00 p.m: Cruise back to Harbour, and take the car back to Hanoi.
6.00 p.m: Arrive Hanoi, drop you at the hotel, tour finish.
