The Northeast is the region at the north of the Red River Delta, Vietnam. Northeast called to distinguish them from the Northwest, but it's actually in the north and northeast of Hanoi. The northeast is one of three sub-regions of northern Vietnam (2 other sub-region is the Northwest and the Red River Delta). Sometimes the Northeast, including the Red River Delta.
For most visitors, the northeast is all about Halong Bay. The sublime seascape at this World Heritage site is undoubtedly one of Vietnam’s most enchanting experiences. But high up in the rugged mountains of the interior are some of the country’s most intriguing destinations and far fewer tourists than in the coastal clusters

Day 1: Hanoi – Halong (-/L/D): Car
In the morning:
7:30- 8:30 a.m: Pick you up at the hotel and leave for Halong Bay. Short break en route in Hai Duong Province (20mins). Arrive in Halong Bay around
12:00. Get on a traditional wooden junk boat, check-in procedures.
In the afternoon:
1.00 p.m: Lunch with fresh seafood is served (vegetarian and kids menus available). We are slowly getting off the classic cruising routes, keep admiring the amazing kasts with different formations on the way. Limestone rock formations will parade around us for about 2 hours before our first stop.
3.00 p.m: You will arrive at TiTop area and enjoy kayaking. Kayak, paddles, dry bags for cameras are available on boat. Amongst the many ways to explore this legendary stone world, kayaking has been emerging as a new, exciting and adventurous way that can lead tourists to the most primary parts of the bay. Let’s discover Halong Bay from top of the island.
After one/one and a half hour kayaking, we get back on boat, and then the afternoon is perfect for some diving, swimming, fishing, sunbathing or snorkeling....Relax on the sundeck, enjoy free fruits and drinks served by the crew.
6. oo p.m: You can join a cooking demonstration class to learn how to prepare Spring-roll Vietnamese dishes before sitting down for dinner.
In the evening:
7.00 p.m: A romantic dinner embraced by one of the most spectacular sunsets in the world will warm up every sense and passion of yours, and the evening will be full of surprise with party on boat and night squid fishing, relaxing, enjoy music or English movies (equipment provided).
Staying overnight in a cozy air-conditioned cabin with en-suite bathroom facilities is also a favorite of many visitors.
Day 2: Halong Bay – Cao Bang (B/L/D): Car
In the morning:
7.00 a.m: Coffee, tea and fruit will be served from 7.00 a.m. Wake up smoothly while witnessing the silence of beautiful misty bay, energize your body and soul or just allow yourself some idle time on a sunbath with a cup of coffee.
8.00 a.m: After breakfast on boat, you will visit the Halong Bay’s largest cave named Sung Sot (Amazing Cave), walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat.
9.00 a.m: Upon return to the boat you will have 30 minutes to freshen up and finish packing. Please remove all of your belongings from the cabins, you may leave heavy luggage outside of the cabins. Cruise around Halong Bay, and take photos before cruising back to the harbor.
In the afternoon:
12.00: Have lunch then disembark and take a bus from Halong City to Cao Bang. Which gives yours eyes a massage with the endless blue sky and colorful terraced paddy field. The road is curved around the mountain and you will just go from one surprised to another. The further you go, the closer you are to the sky and to nature.
4.00 p.m: Arrival in Cao Bang, Arrive in Cao Bang, visit Phuoc Sen village of Nung people, a small village famous for producing farming tools. The population of the Nùng is estimated to be more than 700,000. They are located primarily in the provinces of Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, and Tuyen Quang.
The Nùng support themselves through agriculture, such as farming on terraced hillsides, tending rice paddies, and growing orchard products. They produce rice, maize, tangerines, persimmons and anise. They are also known for their handicrafts, making items from bamboo and rattan, as well as weaving. They engage in carpentry and iron forging also.
5.00 p.m: Chech in hotel and have dinner, overnight in Cao Bang.
Day 3: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc – Ba Be (B/L/D): Car
7.00 a.m: After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Ban Gioc waterfall, one of the most beautiful landscape in Northern Vietnam.
11.00 a.m: Arrive Ban Gioc, taking photos and enjoying the most beautiful waterfall of Vietnam. From here, you can rent bamboo boat to go around river.
12.00: Have lunch at local restaurant and relaxing.
1.00 p.m: Take the bus to Ba Be, Ba Bể Lake (Vietnamese: Hồ Ba Bể; Ba means Three, Bể is from the Tay language word pé, meaning "lake") is the largest natural lake in Vietnam. Located 145m above sea level, the lake has an average depth from 20 to 25m and its deepest part is 35m. The lake bed has submersible mounts and grottoes so it is ideal for aquatic animals.
Having been formed approximately 200 million years ago, the lake is surrounded by limestone cliffs, which in turn are covered by primary forests. The lake comprises three zones named Pé Lầm, Pé Lù, and Pé Lèng. Three rivers, named Năng, Tả Han, and Nam Cường, are the main inflows of the lake. The Năng River enters the lake through a large waterfall called Đầu Đẳng. In the lake there are also three islands, named Án Mã, Khẩu Cúm, and Po Gia Mải (literally "Widow's Island").
Ba Bể Lake is a featured geographical science and is a biodiversity reservoir. It is a part of the Ba Be National Park.
6.00 p.m: Arrive Ba Be, go straight to homestay in Pac Ngoi, check in the room and enjoy dinner with local family. Overnight in Pac Ngoi village.
Day 4: Ba Be – Hanoi (B/L/-): Car
7.30 a.m: After breakfast, , take a boat go along Nang River to visit Puong Cave, not as big or magnificent as Phong Nha Cave in Quang Binh or Nguom Ngao Cave in Cao Bang, Puong Cave – its 30m wide with a depth of 300m. And then keep visit Dau Dang waterfall, Window Islet and swimming.
11.30 a.m: Then trek to Pac Ngoi village and explore the daily life of Tay. Visitors coming to Pac Ngoi are not only entitled to witness with their naked eyes the most wonderful scenery of Northern Vietnam: a plethora of austere yet interesting stilt houses blending themselves with the glimmering mist and the shinning Ba Be Lakes, but also to stay in the rhythm of the Tay culture
12.30 p.m: Have lunch in Pac Ngoi village.
1.30 p.m: Take the car back to Hanoi.
6.00 p.m: Arrive Hanoi, drop you at the hotel. Tour finish.
