Trek to Pac Ngoi village and explore the daily life of Tay
Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang (-/L/D): Car
8.00 a.m: In the morning, ODC Travel’ tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. This drive of 318 km, which will take approximately eight hours, takes us through the flatlands of the Red River Delta and up into the mountain areas north of Hanoi, and give yours eyes a massage with the endless blue sky and colorful terraced paddy field. The road is curved around the mountain and you will just go from one surprised to another. The further you go, the closer you are to the sky and to nature.
12.00: Have lunch at local restaurant on the route.
4.00 p.m: Arrival in Ha Giang, check in and free time.
7.00 p.m: Have dinner and overnight at hotel in Ha Giang.
Day 2: Ha Giang - Dong Van. (B/L/D): Car
8.00 a.m: After breakfast, starting from Ha Giang, you will stop in Quan Ba District to visit the Bo Y minority village, with a combined population of 1,500 people the Bo Y - Tu Di are currently ranked 46th of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. The Tu Di women of Muong Khuong have adopted a style of dress similar to their Phi La neighbours and now wear black trousers and a shirt of black and blue material with a distinctive front panel, decorated with pieces of coloured material, patches of embroidery and silver chains: the shirt buttons under the right armpit and has concentric rings of coloured material around the upper sleeves and cuffs. The hair is tied in a chignon at the top of the head and covered by a black turban and embroidery.
10.00 a.m: Then process passing Sky gate where you can visit sky, Fairy Mountain, hand weaving village. Break in Yen Minh town.
12.00: Have lunch at local restaurant.
1.00 p.m: Go to discover Lung Cu Flag Tower. Lung Cu flagpole, about 24km from the centre of Dong Van district, is a tourist destination that is meaningful for domestic visitors. Lung Cu mount is liken as "a high forehead of the motherland" where marks the extreme North of our country. From its top, visitors can see the whole of beautiful and spectacular landscape.
4.00 p.m: Take the bus back to Dong Van.
4.30 p.m: Check in hotel and wander around the town to catch some pictures of ethnic minorities here.
7.00 p.m: Have dinner and overnight in Dong Van.
Day 3: Dong Van - Meo Vac - Cao Bang (B/L/D): Car
8.00 a.m: After breakfast, continues to Meo Vac town, visit Dao minority, The Dao (pronounced Zao) are the 9th largest ethnic group in Vietnam with a population of just under 500,000. They belong to the Hmong Dao language group and are believed to have started migrating from China in the 13th century. The women wear some of the most colourful and diverse costumes of all ethnic groups but can be identified by their black trousers richly embroidered with flower or small star patterns. Their jackets can be red or black usually with embroidered borders. The ensemble is topped by a black or red turban together with chunky silver jewelry. In addition most Dao women shave off their eyebrows and foreheads as this is traditionally regarded as a sign of beauty.
10.00 p.m: We have chance to view Nho Que River with Ma Pileng pass. The path length is approximately 200 kilometers. Ma Pi Leng Pass is located in the Dong Van Geoparks which is recognized as the global geoparks. The road along the mountainside has romantic, spectacular scenery that is ideal destination for tourists.
Ma Pi Leng Pass is not long but it is the most dangerous pass in the northern border mountain area. It is considered as the “King” of the Vietnam’s pass or Great Wall of Vietnam or the Pyramid of the Meo. At the top of Ma Pi Leng mount is the “happiness” road, there has a stone stele recording the marks in the construction process.
11.00 a.m: After that we go to Sa Phin village to visit former Meo King palace. Often dubbed Vua Meo (king of H’mong), the palace’s official name is Vuong Chinh Sinh. The Hmong king ruled over a vast territory from Dong Van Plateau to Meo Vac Town. During his reign, the charismatic king attracted a lot of attention when he and other Meo residents joined forces with Ho Chi Minh to gain national freedom.
1.00 p.m: Have lunch at local restaurant.
2.00 p.m: Continue to Cao Bang.
5.00 p.m: Arrive Cao Bang, check in hotel and have dinner also overnight in Cao Bang.
Day 4: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc – Ba Be (B/L/D): Car
7.00 a.m: After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Ban Gioc waterfall, one of the most beautiful landscape in Northern Vietnam.
11.00 a.m: Arrive Ban Gioc, taking photos and enjoying the most beautiful waterfall of Vietnam. From here, you can rent bamboo boat to go around river.
12.00: Have lunch at local restaurant and relaxing.
1.00 p.m: Take the bus to Ba Be, Ba Bể Lake (Vietnamese: Hồ Ba Bể; Ba means Three, Bể is from the Tay language word pé, meaning "lake") is the largest natural lake in Vietnam. Located 145m above sea level, the lake has an average depth from 20 to 25m and its deepest part is 35m. The lake bed has submersible mounts and grottoes so it is ideal for aquatic animals.
Having been formed approximately 200 million years ago, the lake is surrounded by limestone cliffs, which in turn are covered by primary forests. The lake comprises three zones named Pé Lầm, Pé Lù, and Pé Lèng. Three rivers, named Năng, Tả Han, and Nam Cường, are the main inflows of the lake. The Năng River enters the lake through a large waterfall called Đầu Đẳng. In the lake there are also three islands, named Án Mã, Khẩu Cúm, and Po Gia Mải (literally "Widow's Island").
Ba Bể Lake is a featured geographical science and is a biodiversity reservoir. It is a part of the Ba Be National Park.
6.00 p.m: Arrive Ba Be, go straight to homestay in Pac Ngoi, check in the room and enjoy dinner with local family. Overnight in Pac Ngoi village.
Day 5: Ba Be – Hanoi (B/L/-): Car
7.30 a.m: After breakfast, , take a boat go along Nang River to visit Puong Cave, not as big or magnificent as Phong Nha Cave in Quang Binh or Nguom Ngao Cave in Cao Bang, Puong Cave – its 30m wide with a depth of 300m. And then keep visit Dau Dang waterfall, Window Islet and swimming.
11.30 a.m: Then trek to Pac Ngoi village and explore the daily life of Tay. Visitors coming to Pac Ngoi are not only entitled to witness with their naked eyes the most wonderful scenery of Northern Vietnam: a plethora of austere yet interesting stilt houses blending themselves with the glimmering mist and the shinning Ba Be Lakes,but also to stay in the rhythm of the Tay culture
12.30 p.m: Have lunch in Pac Ngoi village.
1.30 p.m: Take the bus back to Hanoi.
6.00 p.m: Arrive Hanoi, drop you at the hotel. Tour finish.
