Itinerary: Thien Mu Pagoda - Hue Citadel - Tu Duc Tomb - Khai Dinh Tomb

Hue is well known for its historic monuments, which have earned it a place in UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. The seat of the Nguyen emperors was the Citadel, which occupies a large, walled area on the north side of the Perfume River. Inside the citadel was a forbidden city where only the emperors, concubines, and those close enough to them were granted access; the punishment for trespassing was death. Today, little of the Forbidden City remains, though reconstruction efforts are in progress to maintain it as a historic tourist attraction.

"What a Find - Highly Recommended"
I was very impressed with the Hue- the Ancient City tour of ODC Travel. We cycled around Hue City. Firstly, we visited to the Imperial Citadel which is huge and although just a handful of the original structures continue to be standing, the sheer imagination of the rest that might have existed during the Nguyen dynasty. Thien Mu Pagoda was Peaceful, serene, spiritual, and had a nice view down the Perfume River. Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Roual Tombs were so wonderful. Tun is very knowledgeable in the country's history. He was great company, easy to talk to, very attentive and patient. The food tour was awesome too. The trip was a great experience and I will be going back.
